Round Robin: First Signs of Spring

The challenge this time around over at
Round Robin was First Signs of Spring.
I don't want to say we don't get spring in Los Angeles.
But it's really not that dramatic a change
going from season to season here.

But there is one thing that does change here in spring.
The daffodils come poking through.

And they just look so happy,
stretching toward the sun.

This was a bit of a lazy effort for me.
I will try to do better next time.
Here we have a daffodil in my yard.

Daffodil Lament - The Cranberries

Holding on, that's what I do since I met you.
And it won't be long. Would you notice if I left you?
And it's fine for some 'cause you're not the one,
You're not the one there... There...
there... there... there... there...
All night long, laid on my pillow,
These things are wrong. I can't sleep here!
So lovely, so lovely, so lovely.

I have decided to leave you forever.
I have decided to start things from here.
Thunder and lightning won't change,
What I'm feeling
and the daffodils look lovely today,
And the daffodils look lovely today,
Look lovely today.

Ooh, in your eyes I can see the disguise.
Ooh, in your eyes I can see the disguise.
Has anyone seen lightning?
Has anyone looked lovely?

And the daffodils look lovely today,
And the daffodils look lovely today,
Look lovely today...

Hi Jill :)

What a beautiful burst of sunshine! I haven't spent much time in the L.A. area, but I do know that it is a bit more colorful up here in the Bay Area. California with all it's microclimates can be a bit of a bummer in terms of the change of seasons. There aren't nearly enough fall colors during autumn for me. :)

Wonderful entry as always!

Carly :)

I agree, a beautiful burst of sunshine. I had some struggling daffodils, and then, we had a weird snow and they....froze. Oh, well. Happy Spring!

That is a stunning shot of a daffodil -- I wish I could get up close like that but I get too shaky when I try to use the manual setting on my lens and can't focus right, and I haven't mastered my tripod (which probably wouldn't go that low to the ground). But, enough excuses! LOL! I think this is a great entry!

Love the bold shot of the daffodil! Poem is sad and hopeful at the same time...

I hear ya about spring in L.A. It's even less seasonal than Tucson! Thanks for the entry anyway, though, to remind us that spring is not the same thing everywhere.

Nothing says spring like daffy-dils. I'm glad yours poked through. I'm still waiting.
