Round Robin: A Nice Place to Sit

The challenge this time around at
Round Robin is "A Nice Place to Sit."
I am lucky enough to live in a place where we have many
nice places to sit outdoors pretty much all year long.
So I headed toward the water.

All the pictures were taken Thursday, March 6, 2008.

The following two pictures were taken along an area in
Redondo Beach, Calif., known as The Strand.

The next two photos were taken
at The Neighborhood Church
in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.

I don't go to this church for services.

But they have such a nice garden and this
beautiful seawall built into the bluffs.

Sometimes I just like to go here to wander around,
have a sit and think for a bit.

It is quite peaceful during the week
when no one is around.

On my way to work Thursday I decided on take the
scenic route through Long Beach, Calif.
I was driving past the art museum there
and decided to stop in for a look.
I was in no hurry to get to work anyway.
I found that they have a lovely little cafe with patio dining.
It was a beautiful day.
If I didn't have to get to work,
I would have stayed a while longer.

I do like my new dining room set.
And the chairs are pretty comfy.
Apparently George, my behemoth cat, thinks so also.
He likes to hide on them, tucked under the table.
He also loves to sit in the window and watch the world go by.

Finally, I leave you with the last place I sat
Thursday night before heading home for the night.

I met some friends and former colleagues
at a dive bar in Torrance, Calif.
At the end of a long day, it was most
definitely a nice place to sit.
With a pint.

Ahhhh, the Pacific Ocean. That IS a nice place to sit, even when crowded.

Yes, and it was a beautiful day Thursday. I really didn't want to leave the water and go to work.

Hi Jill :)

Beautiful examples of the challenge topic! I could see myself enjoying a nice afternoon in the spring sun sitting right there along the coast. :) Your kitty made me smile. They teach us a lot about relaxation don't they? Great entry as always darlin!

Always, Carly

I'd love to be sitting by the water right now ... we're in the middle of a snowstorm!

Cute kitties!

Mine's up too!

Those are really nice photos. Looks like there are a lot of nice places to sit around those parts. I'm partial to the last one myself LOL

Those are beautiful photos! What an incredible view from those places to sit. I could sit for hours there.

Carly: Thanks. Yeah. That cat is a master and relaxation. When he isn't attacking me, that is.

Tina: Sorry about your snow. I won't gloat TOO much about the fact that it was 80 degrees and sunny here in California today.

Wise Old Dog: Yep. That last place is a good place to sit a spell. I love a good dive bar.

Sandcastle: I didn't really want to leave any of them after I was done with my drive by photo shooting. But I was on the way to work. Though I did linger at that bar for a bit.

Excellent variety here! I envy your ability to take the scenic route to work, and to have an ocean in easy reach. And the first of the cat pictures and the last shot are both really intriguing and well-composed.

I would like to take a seat on all your places ! even together with the cute cat and look out through the window, lol !

These photos are awesome. Beautifully done, especially that first one of the red bench and the last red barstools half in shadow.

Your photos are lovely and that cat! magnifique! My choice are the barstools. I don't know, they always seem to get more comfortable with every pint -- until they start to sway :0)

all look warm, but like the last one best!

Great post! And such a beautiful, beautiful day. I don't usually miss California, but this post certainly brought back some good memories. Enjoy it for me a bit, would you?!
