Is that a kielbasa in your pants or...

From an AP story I read today:

In his 22 years on the bench in this town 50 miles southwest of Jacksonville, Miller has seen some strange thefts. One of the most unusual was a man who left a store with a kielbasa in his pants and a bottle of Pepto Bismol in his pocket. The man explained that he stole the sausage because he was hungry and the stomach medication because kielbasa gave him heartburn.

OK. That is just freaking awesome.

Just curious, what town is that? My hometown is about 50 miles southwest of Jacksonville ... Florida. It's a tiny place and I get so excited when it makes the news. Even if it's for an execution at the state prison. Yep. It's that small.

I can't remember offhand.
The story was about odd sentences people are given. Such as carrying a sign that labels them a thief, etc.
I can look when I get to work tomorrow and get back to you.

My favorite in my capital city of West Virginia was the story where the man and woman got into a domestic, he steals all of her weed and leaves the house and yes ...

She called the cops to tell them that her boyfriend stole her pound of weed.

Ah, geniusry.

Oh yeah, the stupid criminal stories are always my favorite.

I have no idea how I found your blog (I think I hit 'Next Blog' by accident), but I have to say it reminds me so much of my time in Los Angeles and the women I knew there. You are amazing and I hope you keep blogging

Jeb: Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I hope you accidentally find your way here again. Or on purpose. That works, too.

I thought so -- that story moved on the state wire a few weeks ago but we didn't get it in. That AP writer needs to look at a map. Palatka is 50 miles DUE SOUTH of Jacksonville. Bradford County, my home, is SOUTHWEST of Jacksonville.
